Marshall's Nightmare
Marshall's Nightmare

Andy Marshall is facing a possible nightmare end to the season with Town fighting relegation and his old side Norwich still in the running for promotion. Marshall left Carrow Road last summer to join Town in a bid to get Premiership football.

The Town keeper said: "It would be absolutely dire, changing places with them, I wouldn't live it down, let's put it like that.

"I keep in contact with the players, I always got on well with the lads, I have no axe to grind with them, nor the management, but it would not be very nice if the unthinkable did happen.

"The only time I wanted to play against Norwich was in the Premier League and if we do go down, it will obviously be bitterly disappointing for myself and the club.

"Norwich have done well this year, credit to them, I was one of the ones who didn't expect them to stick in there and get into the play-offs but they've done it. Now it's just whether they are strong enough to beat Wolves."

Marshall is still feels that Town can avoid the drop: "We're still positive, you've got to be. We're two points behind Sunderland and we can only hope they lose and then the rest is up to us. We can only do what we can do.

"Even if Sunderland do win, it doesn't put us down so we'll play the game as though we're still trying to stay up because obviously it will go to the wire then.

"But hopefully Charlton can do us a favour, I know they haven't done too well over the last few weeks but I'm sure Alan Curbishley will get stuck into them and get them revved up for the game."
