Morris Joins Woking on Loan
Saturday, 11th Mar 2017 11:33

Town’s England U18s striker Ben Morris has joined Vanarama National League side Woking on a youth loan.

Colchester-born Morris, 17, has been a regular scorer for the Blues’ U23s this season but despite having been on the first-team bench on a number of occasions is yet to make his senior debut.

Town have sent a number of young players out on loan to gain experience with the Cards in recent seasons including Jack Marriott, Michael Crowe and Joe Robinson.

Second-year scholar Morris, who could make his debut in this afternoon's home game against Borehamwood this afternoon, signed a two-year pro contract after turning 17 in July last year.

How can sending a youth player out on loan to a National Leaguevlub be anything other than a good move? I swear some people should be IQ tested before they're allowed to post on here.

How long is the loan for? If we get to the meaningless end-of-the-season games and give Samuel a game while Morris is still out on loan, that wouldn't make any sense or make Mick any more popular*.

* Unless a permanent move for Samuel is being lined up. But even then, you'd have to wonder.
