Town Announce 2017/18 Season Ticket Prices
Friday, 17th Mar 2017 06:30

Town’s season ticket prices for 2017/18 focus on persuading young fans back to Portman Road but adult season ticket holders face a price rise of 1.5 per cent - unless the total of seats sold hits the club’s 12,750 target which would see all season ticket holders receive a five per cent refund.

The Blues have introduced a new under-23s price band which will see a seat in the lower tier of the Sir Bobby Robson or Sir Alf Ramsey Stands cost £230 if bought prior to the early bird deadline of midday on Monday 17th April.

The concession previously available to under-16s will now be available to under-19s, who will be able to buy a lower tier ticket before the early bird date for £125.

The £10 season ticket for under-11s has been scrapped, in part due to abuse with some fans buying tickets “just so they could have a seat in the Family Enclosure or have an empty seat next to them”, but there is a £50 season ticket available to those aged under 12.

Town have launched a new reward scheme as part of that ticket which will see young fans receive £2 in TeamCard points for every match they attend. If they're at all 23 Championship home games, they will get points worth £46.

An adult lower tier season ticket bought prior to the early bird deadline will cost £423 compared with £417 this season, an increase of 1.5 per cent.

However, the Blues will give all season ticket holders a refund of five per cent if the total of season ticket sales - including concessions - reaches 12,750 by Friday 4th August.

Town have increased the age at which fans are entitled to a senior citizens concession from 60 to 65 in line with other clubs.

Those currently paying a senior concessions price for a season ticket but will be 64 or younger on Thursday 10th August will have to switch to an adult ticket but their seat will be subsidised by 50 per cent for the season ahead. The 800 supporters affected by this change will be contacted directly by Town.

Town will be continuing the interest-free 12-month Direct Debit payment scheme, while they have scrapped admin fees for purchasing season tickets at Planet Blue or by post.

The Silver and Gold membership schemes have been revamped and a new Ultimate membership scheme has been introduced.

Town are yet to announce their matchday prices but we understand they’re set to be largely frozen for the most part but as with season tickets with reductions for younger supporters.

We also understand the £2.50 additional charge on tickets purchased on matchdays will be dumped.

If Town are relegated to League One, we understand season ticket prices will remain at the levels above but matchday pricing would be reduced.

Season ticket packs will be posted from Thursday 23rd March before they go on sale from Monday 27th March.

You can see full details of Town’s season ticket pricing for 2017/18 and the new membership schemes on the club site here.

Decision now made for us two 63 year olds who have had concessions for the last 3 years ! This is a disgrace and will lead to fewer families and over 60s even if they were considering renewing . Shame on you ITFC !

Is this some kind of sick joke? We play the least entertaining football in the world, followed by the league position falling each yeah AND YOU PUT THE TICKETS UP? What a superb way to get the people in who were 50/0 and actually I hope nobody renews because it's beyond a sick joke

As a 63 year old after the numerous home games we have witnessed this season my decision has now been made

completely the wrong way round and just proves how much they see fans as just £ signs and not actual fans, should be commended for the younger price levels to be fair but for an adult its obscene ... and i really do believe that part of the deal should include access to the itfc wifi !! give something back Milne FFS

The new prices are expected, but are also a joke. Our football this season has been uninspiring and has provided little entertainment, yet town see it wise to rise prices again!

The decision to screw over concessions as well is baffling, to increase the OAP price from 6p to 65 and to remove the student price.Yes under 23s has been introduced, but there are plenty of students above that age who have now been thrown into the Adult bracket.

There is also an incentive to refund everyone 5% of their season ticket. This is unrealistic and a tactic by the club to make more people renew. We will NOT reach 12,750 season tickets, we only have about 12,000 now. The number of season tickets will only go down so that target will never be hit, and even if it gets close it has to be hit by 4th August just to make the target even more unrealistic.

As for Milnes interview he makes it very clear that it is all about money for Evans. The Huddesfield pries were raised and quickly dismissed. The OAP age rise was branded as moving into line with other clubs (sorry didn't know that this was a copy game). He also talks about posting just a few good results at the end of the season and people will continue to come, and that should not be the case! The season has been awful and if a few good results at the end make it a good enough season to be happy then that truly is awful!

As for the part about not knowing how many people are actually in the ground that has to be rubbish! Every ticket is electronically scanned as you come into the ground and therefore information is stored somewhere, that means there is a very simple system counting how many tickets have been scanned. The real problem is that the number is so embarrassingly low that the club just don't want to publish it. It states that roughly 4000 haven't been coming to midweek games meaning the attendance is actually closer to about 11 thousand.

I for one feel that many will take this rise and the comments made as a step to far by the club and will decided that enough is enough. Others may also be waiting on the fence until Mick is gone! Whatever anyone chooses it is their right to choose that and no one can say otherwise. But all I can feel from all of this is that sales will be down again, thanks Mick and thanks ITFC but for now I just can't see why I should stay.

I think along with most supporters at any club as a fan I am baffled that my club does not want a full stadium. What are more clubs not following Bradford city,s lead , having very affordable season ticket prices and filling their ground week in week out. Surely the team would rather walk out to 25,000 fans paying £10 than 10,000 paying £20 (indicative numbers) ...and the bean counters in the club then pleased with doubling programme sales, burger sales, etc etc .
I do understand that there would be additional costs i.e. Policing, stewards etc but surely the additional crowds would pay for this .
Why are we never given the insight to this ....and why are they scared to just do the maths
I sadly feel that our club just gets this wrong and is fingers crossed each year that we are successful...and fill the ground on £40 tickets......we'll wake up and smell the coffee we currently suffer the embarrassment of not even being able to sell out our local derby
....why do inept bean counters run ...and ruin our club...both for now and future fans

Div 1 next season. We don't have the players to keep us up and at these prices, enough said.

While the prices at ITFC are ridiculously high compared to other championship clubs, we would have no trouble getting 27-28000 if we were challenging for the league and 23-24000 around the play-offs. The fall off last and this season has mainly been due to the dire football orchestrated by McCarthy and we are expected to renew on the basis that he will still be there. Well, after 60 years of support, no thanks and my 3 companions are not renewing either. If McCarthy does go at the end of the season, it will still take a long time to get the disillusioned back. Very sad times for my beloved ITFC

Poor football on display , best players being sold and money not spent on fees , poor league position , no signings to excite , youth not given a proper go with squad flooded with loans who wont be here , under performing players picked over and over , players out of position , fans dis respected if they have an opinion other than MM's , crowds dropping rapidly and poor atmosphere .... I know what lets make them pay more !!!!!!

Perhaps the rise in ST tickets will help towards the compensation Evans has to pay to get rid of Dino, just a silly thought of mine !!!!!

prebsa - did he really say they don't know how many are actually in the ground on a match day ?
Surely a safety issue that the Emergency Services/HSE would be interested in !!!
What happens if there's an incident ???
Even a basic awareness of H&S should tell you that a venue HAS to know how many people they are accommodating for crowd safety, emergency plans etc etc
Either another example of breathtaking complacency by the club, lack of knowledge by Milne or blatant lying ..... none of which look good for him !!!!

GAZ1234 added 09:09 - Mar 17
Milne said that they need the 1.5% increase as other costs have gone up 6 - 7%
However, they have shot themselves in the foot, because if only 150 season ticket holders don't renew because of this, then they will be in negative equity.
I fail to see how ME has built a successful business empire, as from where I am sitting (and it won't be Portman Road) he his destroying ITFC

St Patricks Day or April Fools? Unbelievable … let's penalise the loyal supporters who have followed the club for 20, 30, 40 years?? the youngsters are bored, not interested anymore. I will not renew.

You've stated your case pragmatic blue what a super fan you are.
Unfortunately some of us who have retired early to care for elderly parent could of done with the senior concession staying at 60 as 423.00 is a large chunk out of a small pension.

It's a Joke. Even a village idiot would struggle to dream up this
renewal package, given what's been on offer the last 18months.
Would suggest Evans and Milne visit Chantry Park this Saturday
to see how football should be played.
2 more tickets not being renewed. Wont miss the football
as it is shocking. I at least have the memories of the great achievements of the
Sir Bobby Robson years

The 5% discount might as well be 50% as they know they won't have to pay it. An increase on ST sales after the season we are having?! Pure fantasy.

I will be there next season and hope people do renew, but I will understand if they don't and expect a drop of thousands.

With a heavy heart, I think that's it for me. After 17 years a ST Holder.

When I saw the thread last night, I was in tears that the prices were being raised - after the disaster of this season, boredom at matches, and fact I need to save money for personal reasons, I cannot justify going anymore. And don't get me started on the unfair treatment of the kids and OAPS....and the con that we will get discounts IF a certain amount of tickets are sold.

I am concerned that with not going, I will lose total interest in ITFC and football in general too, and not even watch on TV or listen to the commentary anymore.

I will miss a lot of people I have become friends with, but I am not sure if they themselves will be renewing yet. They were one main reason I still went this season.

An utter disgrace, ITFC. All you had to do was freeze prices, and I probably would still have gone.
