Town Announce 2017/18 Season Ticket Prices
Friday, 17th Mar 2017 06:30

Town’s season ticket prices for 2017/18 focus on persuading young fans back to Portman Road but adult season ticket holders face a price rise of 1.5 per cent - unless the total of seats sold hits the club’s 12,750 target which would see all season ticket holders receive a five per cent refund.

The Blues have introduced a new under-23s price band which will see a seat in the lower tier of the Sir Bobby Robson or Sir Alf Ramsey Stands cost £230 if bought prior to the early bird deadline of midday on Monday 17th April.

The concession previously available to under-16s will now be available to under-19s, who will be able to buy a lower tier ticket before the early bird date for £125.

The £10 season ticket for under-11s has been scrapped, in part due to abuse with some fans buying tickets “just so they could have a seat in the Family Enclosure or have an empty seat next to them”, but there is a £50 season ticket available to those aged under 12.

Town have launched a new reward scheme as part of that ticket which will see young fans receive £2 in TeamCard points for every match they attend. If they're at all 23 Championship home games, they will get points worth £46.

An adult lower tier season ticket bought prior to the early bird deadline will cost £423 compared with £417 this season, an increase of 1.5 per cent.

However, the Blues will give all season ticket holders a refund of five per cent if the total of season ticket sales - including concessions - reaches 12,750 by Friday 4th August.

Town have increased the age at which fans are entitled to a senior citizens concession from 60 to 65 in line with other clubs.

Those currently paying a senior concessions price for a season ticket but will be 64 or younger on Thursday 10th August will have to switch to an adult ticket but their seat will be subsidised by 50 per cent for the season ahead. The 800 supporters affected by this change will be contacted directly by Town.

Town will be continuing the interest-free 12-month Direct Debit payment scheme, while they have scrapped admin fees for purchasing season tickets at Planet Blue or by post.

The Silver and Gold membership schemes have been revamped and a new Ultimate membership scheme has been introduced.

Town are yet to announce their matchday prices but we understand they’re set to be largely frozen for the most part but as with season tickets with reductions for younger supporters.

We also understand the £2.50 additional charge on tickets purchased on matchdays will be dumped.

If Town are relegated to League One, we understand season ticket prices will remain at the levels above but matchday pricing would be reduced.

Season ticket packs will be posted from Thursday 23rd March before they go on sale from Monday 27th March.

You can see full details of Town’s season ticket pricing for 2017/18 and the new membership schemes on the club site here.

Having only attended a handful of games over the last few years due to working commitments and a young family, I was looking forward to returning back to sacred ground next season, but until smug McCarthy is replaced with something more dynamic,I ain't going nowhere!
That's the only way Evans will ever turn this around, new manager and for himself to show future direction. Obviously very difficult that, considering he's ruddy clueless and don't even get me started on 'crap talking Milne'!!!!!!

Mr Evans was asked about doing something similar to what Huddersfield have done what did he say it's not financially viable says it all .

This is a poor show all round. Antagonistic, thoughtless and ultimately pointless in terms of revenue. Daft.

Let's make that 6 points clear of relegation? So we could be most expensive in league 1 next season!!

So, to summerise. We have sh!t season and we reward our loyal season ticket holders with the £10 youg members with a £40 hike because.. and our loyal season tickets holder and support home and away with 1.5% hike, again because.. Only to watch most probably if not the same, a lot worse pile of dross we have this season..
Tell me, have I missed something here? My lad and I haven't been to at least 6 games this season because it's that bad and the business plan says "I know, lets increase the prices" when we cannot fill the stadium....
Look at Huddersfield, £15 per game/head and it's full..
I'm sorry Mr Evans, a step to far you have just lost a junior who you are wanting to attract, and someone who has followed ITFC abroad... THANKS..
As I have said many time before, 10th may we will get the "by mutual consent line" I fear. Marcus Evans is the issue here not MM..
You have just lost two season ticket holders, I'll see you all on the road.. FFS

Used to be a season ticket holder but have not attended any home games in the 2016/17 season.. and to see the prices going up even more?! Can't see myself going in a long while.

It surprises me that so many are surprised by this,Its been fairly obvious for a while that marcus evans does not give a fk about fans of this club,he should sell the club to somebody prepared to invest in the club, and who wants the club to get back to where it belongs in the premiership.

Considering the truly & unequivocally turgid performances over the last year, together with the general spirit around the ground i'm truly amazed by this pricing proposal.

Sadly 3 generations of my family won't be renewing next season w/o change and i can't see that happening; Every other Saturday afternoon at Woodbridge Town it'll be then.

been a supporter 55 years, stopped going to matches 18 months ago and had no intention of returning whilst McCarthy remained as manager. This latest announcement has just made me more determined to stay away.Im afraid I'm done with ITFC now ,unlikely to set foot in the ground again .To support ITFC is to support Evans ,I'm not going to do that .

There's no point in moaning they're not going to do a Phillip Hammond style u turn - just don't buy a ticket next season.

You make a very strong point there dirtydingusmagee. At what point do we decide that we've had enough? For me, it's like a great relationship that's gone badly and horribly wrong. Do I continue to support a club that I don't believe in anymore or do I step away? Over the last few months I've wished that it was that easy to switch clubs, that's how fed up I am of the club. i just wish I could support someone different.

WTF - I bring my 3 kids with me each week so I would appear to be the type of fan that the club is trying to appeal to, however every single one of our tickets is increasing in price - mine by 1.5% and theirs by 400%, which equates to an increase of approx £130. I despair with where our great club is going - the quality and style on the pitch is dreadful and the decision making off the pitch is even worse.

I think we need a new manager who is more attack orientated, believes in passing football and puts proper faith in the kids to start bringing the fans back, as we've been slowly drifting backwards for the last 15 yrs

They really don't get it to they. It's so hard to get behind a team that is having the soul ripped from it. I've believed for some time now that Marcus Heavens doesn't really care that much about Ipswich. If he really cared he wouldn't of allowed the gates to drop so low without acting and he would of stumped up more money to ensure we weren't hunting for bargain basement 10k signings why our rivals our spending millions! Moreover, if he cared he would ensure the fans were served up with more entertaining football. Are we asking for Barcelona style football? Of course we are not expecting the impossible, but we are at least expecting the team to attempt to win home matches and do so in a manner where the ball is on the deck more than it's in the air! If we can't have at least that don't expect us to pay more for such a cheap brand! I haven't been since the Lincoln match and I honestly don't know if I will ever bother going again. I really do enjoy going to watch Gorleston play now than I do Ipswich, sad to say that but true! If Evans spends some cash and we start to play some more entertaining and positive stuff, then I'd be tempted to return, but I can't see it happening so I'm just going to continue to stay away. They are not even throwing us crumbs. There is no incentive for me to jump in my car and drive down the other end of the A12 to watch the rubbish that is served up week in and week out. Apart from the odd game such as Ipswich vs Barnsley most of the games have been crap and I don't think I'm missing much (if anything!) at all! I'll continue to look out for our results on the TV but I'm not spending another dime at Portman Road unless I see some serious and positive changes which I can't see while Marcus Heavens is pulling the strings through his organ grinders McCarthy and Milne!

Meanwhile West Ham fans get to see the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd etc at a much lower price....

http://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/west-ham-freeze-seasonticket-prices-for-s

So, even though we were humiliated last year by the BBC about the price of our season tickets we have done nothing about it! Even Norwich have frozen their prices....

Huddersfield's initiative last season was particularly good (and they are doing the same this season). 179 pounds for the first 10,000 tickets. Now that's incentive.

One word that connects Evans and McCarthy......Negative
Can understand the pricing for teenagers and the early 20s to attract them back to the club, but why oh why hit the loyal bracket of 60-65 year olds.

Milne mentioned that the pricing was correct to attractive football, where has he been for the past 18 months, must have had his head stuck in the sand or just the mouth piece for Evans..

To get fans back to Portman Road, Evans should have given McCarthy the boot months ago. Fans would have been happy, safe from relegation and watching the team attempt to win not take a point here and there with a 10 man defensive unit.

If nothing else this decision has United every fan that uses the message board just goes to show what a sorry state our club is in.

Judging by the outpouring of criticism, I guess that this price increase will lead to a considerable number of season ticket holders choosing not to renew. If there are, say, 12,000 current season ticket holders, a 1.5% increase in prices will be negated by 180 choosing not to renew. I would be surprised if this number is not higher and so the net effect of the price increase, aside from the ill feeling generated, is bound to be negative.

Raising the concession age from 60 to 65? Madness! As a 62 year old I have been coming to Portman Road, on and off, for 50 years, and there are hundreds like me. I travel from south of Colchester to every home game and occasionally away and despite this very trying season I am there every time. I have enjoyed meeting up with my son for a pie and a pint and together reminiscing what the good days were like. We have not given up yet because we always think that the next game will be the one where things are turned around. But why oh why Mr Milne, are you abusing those older supporters who are the life blood of the club? Must seriously consider my renewal now as to revert to adult prices is a step too far (and much harder to convince the wife why I pay all that money to watch mediocrity). After the Bristol City result last night, am I the only one really fearing the drop this year? Do I want to pay those increased prices to watch league one? Oh no!

Ok we finally give in Mr Evans.
My wife and son have been going for 20 years.
She has been putting up with hoofball McCarthy saying well at least next
year now I am 60 I will get a price reduction. Then this, five more years at full price.
No thanks you can keep your season ticket. She sits with a group of 7 long term season ticket supporters , 5 are not going to renew.Leaving 2 one of which has to go to be with her son. What a joke our once proud club has become.Enjoy the empty stadium.

If Theresa May and Philip Hammond are big enough to realise that they had made a huge mistake and reverse it within a week, surely Marcus Evans and Ian Milne can do the same.

The need to voice our views on this unjust, increased ST prices imposed on most of us, will have it's opportunity at the next home game. Appropriately, April fools day. Just how we can voice this I'll leave to the more imaginative supporters.
