Monday, 10th Apr 2017 12:09

Town have named a strong U23s side featuring Jonny Williams, Teddy Bishop, Josh Emmanuel, Dominic Samuel, Andre Dozzell, Danny Rowe, Kieffer Moore and Paul Digby for this afternoon’s game against Millwall at Dartford’s Princes Park (KO 1pm).

Gerard Nash’s side, who beat the Lions 2-1 at home in September, have only one more game to play after today’s match, against Coventry City at Playford Road in a fortnight.

U23s: Crowe, Emmanuel, Digby, C Smith (c), Nydam, Rowe, Bishop, Dozzell, Williams, Samuel, Moore. Subs: Hayes, Webber, Downes, Blanchfield, Morris.

That looks like it might be more entertaining than most of our first team games! Wish I could go.

Why is Williams still here? Welsh international, but obviously not one of Mick's good blokes??

Our Under 23 team is a strong team and often win. Our first team is a weak team that often lose. Does something seem strange about that?

Concur @Ryorry! And I'll will personally go so far in my endorsement of this particular entertaining & scoring capable starting XI -- with the lively Mr. Morris to come off the bench -- that I will put down a 3 games combo-bet worth a 10'er on us scoring over 2.5 goals tonight (combined with last placed Watford U23 beating the currently severely inept & clobbered 2nd from bottom Bristol C U23 + PD Division 1's strong looking Liverpool U23 beating Southampton U23 away) ... aye even though our PDL team in general has performed real disappointingly during the last 3-4 games AND Millwall's boys being not only in 2nd place in the South but also having only conceded more than 2 goals twice this long season and ohhh also having clobbered Barnsley 5-1 a week a go! But.... Ye simply got to BELIEVE sometimes, right? :-) lol

WOW! Still 2 nil up after 33 minutes! Thanks to a 1st minute + 9th minute goal! (I ... or rather 'Flashscore dot com' dunno who scored though),

Arrrgh! My slightly optimistic combo-bet flew just out the window ... and into the Atlantic Ocean :-) ... since we didn't manage to score over 2.5 goals! and this despite scoring twice within the opening 9 minutes. Ohhh well maybe next time right?, and I will certainly find a little solace in me be happy for them PDL boys winning for the 1st time in a month ... and as for the 10'er I just wasted well I guess I will just have to take them out from somewhere else in my astronomical budget won't dont I? like for instance that fabled money jar on the top shelve labelled "2017/2018 season ticket", especially if Elvis hasn't left the proverbial "Building" before August! ... oh wait did I just say Elvis?? silly me! OF COURSE I meant the self-perceived super star manager & genius Mick McCarthy! :-) lol

Alfromcol... We only have to pay for Williams when he is fully fit so we are only playing him for 60 mins or so in U23 games saying he is not ready so we don't have to pay for him . Same as earlier in the season when he was publicly saying he was ready but still wasn't selected to start
