Sheffield Wednesday Game All-Ticket
Monday, 24th Apr 2017 17:17

Saturday’s final home game of the season against play-off-pushing Sheffield Wednesday has been designated an all-ticket match.

Town say the move has been made in order to stop Owls fans from buying tickets in home areas with their allocation of almost 2,000 having sold out.

Blues supporters who have previously bought tickets for games this season can buy seats until 1.30pm on the day of the game either via ITFC Direct or at Planet Blue.

should let town fans in for free after poor season

Surely they will give Wednesday more tickets? Would seem senseless not to when there are more than 15k empty ones.

Agree Nazemariner

Nazemariner & Seasider, think you'll find it likely that the police have asked for no further allocation to be given. Last home game of the season and so many Owls fans would just be a mix they wouldn't want the hassle of dealing with

Outrageous - a high demand from and away team that could sell a few extra seats at a ground that is still unlikely to be 2/3 full?
How dare they be allowed to flaunt their success by shelling out the thick end of £30 each to us.
Another example of what we have become. As I have said before - I remember when there was a football club on Portman Road.

I hope he makes 9 changes again! or perhaps he will keep the same team as Saturday and p... all the home fans off like he did the away fans. We beat Newcastle so let's change the whole team, he is clueless. You would think he would try and win the fans round a tiny bit!!

Agree with a previous comment : give Wednesday more tickets!

Give Sheff Wed fans all 30,000 tickets so they can witness YET another defeat to us and their play off dreams go up in smoke....

Who gives a sh#t now really.I certainly cant be bothered with town anymore while McCarthy and Evans are just screwing the club up .Neither of them are going to go.I wont condsider returning to the terraces unless it changes at the top.The Owls can have all the tickets as far as I'm concerned ,and good luck to them .

I'm going hoping to see a glimmer of a decent last home game of the season, dare say, I'll be hit in the bollox yet again!
Be glad when the season ends!

I'm assuming that they are expecting massive turn out and a standing ovation for both team and management when they parade the EFL championship and manager of the year title.
Sorry guys.....gotta go. Those nice young men in white coats have come to get me.

Given that we are 23 points behind Sheff Wed and 21 points behind the play-offs, maybe Bart should do the lap of honour on his own this year?!

Note comments on here re policing levels. However, given recent history (court cases) I would doubt Suffolk Police would even return Evans' calls. Not as if they would get the joy of watching a football match for their efforts......Newcastle was the second one all season any sensible person would have paid to see. Not sure what that says about me as have not missed one - fool !

IF this is a police decision it's pretty pathetic in my opinion. Travelling supporters are STILL assumed guilty, and seen as a danger or as an inconvenience. Every club has a few bad apples, but I've always found that the vast majority of us are just looking for a good day out.
Surely it's in the very the nature of the football business that clubs should expect to make allowances for exceptional demand, and therefore opportunities for more income isn't it ?
If Wednesday want 5,000 tickets we should welcome them, sell them 5000 tickets and trouser the cash.

After the Rotherham match debacle who wants to see MM throw anyone on anywhere just for the hell of it.

Must say so many on here liked the changes for the Rotherham game pre match. What it did show was what we should've known from cup games that some of the fringe players aren't good enough despite what some supporters think. It does though give a better indication of who to let go

They have the same allocation as Newcastle Villa Leeds & Scum. They have no devine right to be given a bigger allocation just because they have a big fan base. The 2000 that are coming will cause enough problems without any extra.

never understand this. Same as Newcastle game. Let them have the other end of the upper Cobbold which is always empty anyway. Make the club some cash and improve the atmosphere. I guess as others have said it must be governed by the Police?

Why not just give them another 2,000 tickets? Quite a meaningless game to us so why not make some money out of it? By giving them another 2,000 tickets, we could earn around £60k towards signing 6 more Kieffer Moore's in the summer hahaha

Mark - agree with you. Only Bart (maybe Webster before his injury) comes out of this awful season with any credit. The management certainly don't.

Hope that Town scrap the lap of honour. Could prove to be toxic, which is the last thing we need right now.

We should give S.Weds a few more thousand tickets. Might make up for one games lost season ticket holders revenue. If we get more than 10k renewals I for one will be gobsmacked.

Expecting the home crowd to get locked in so when players do lap of the pitch there will still be some in the ground.

Is Ipswich suddenly in fear of hosting 5000 away football supporters ?
