Lawrence Set to Return But Diagouraga Ruled Out
Thursday, 27th Apr 2017 13:49

Town boss Mick McCarthy expects 11-goal top scorer Tom Lawrence to be available for Saturday’s home game against Sheffield Wednesday when he says he will switch back to the team which recorded back-to-back wins against Burton and Newcastle United. Midfielder Toumani Diagouraga will miss out on a place on the bench having suffered a groin injury.

“He’s been having treatment since then and he’s been out and trained fully with the lads today,” McCarthy said regarding Lawrence, who picked up an ankle injury against the Magpies. “Providing there’s no ill effects from today, he’s fine.

“Toums has hurt his groin, he’s not going to be available for Saturday.

"But anyway, I’ve already made it plain that the team that played against Burton and against Newcastle will be playing on Saturday against Sheffield Wednesday, unless there are any problems, of course.”

Loan midfielder Jonny Williams has been ruled out for the season with a hamstring problem, while Luke Hyam, Adam Webster (both ankle), Steven Taylor (hamstring) and Jonas Knudsen (shoulder) remain sidelined.

Jonny Williams - what an absolute waste of time his loan has been. Yes, I know we've been paying him on some sort of "fit to play" deal, but much as UI like him as a player, we really shouldn't risk any money signing him.

I could not give a flying one about anything that comes out of the Dino's mouth nowadays, I'd be lying if I said I have not enjoyed the banter, debates etc (from both sides) on here over the last few months, in what could be describe as an almost addictive kind of way!!, but if this idiot of a BUFFOON (MM) is here next season I simply do not think I could stomach another year of him or the repeat postings.

DINO OUT PRONTO!

Good news about Lawrence, a real shame about Williams. Hopefully he will eventually get over his injuries problems so he can get some games and progress in his career.

Lawrence has been xcellent, but as he's not in our plans for next season, it does seem pointless playing him.

Points mean prizes. Play him.
I feel very sorry for Williams. What must that poor fella be feeling like? Tough when you're young to keep going.
