Wolves Eyeing Bialkowski Move
Wednesday, 10th May 2017 14:22

TWTD understands that Town’s Championship rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers are eyeing a summer move for keeper Bartosz Bialkowski.

The 29-year-old Pole, who was named the Blues’ Supporters Player of the Year for the second successive season last month, revealed in March that a number of clubs made enquiries regarding his availability during the January transfer window with the club making it clear he was going nowhere.

However, Town may well be willing to cash in on the former Southampton and Notts County man this summer as manager Mick McCarthy looks to shake up his squad.

Whether Wolves - or any other interested parties who emerge - would be willing to pay a fee the Blues would accept remains to be seen.

Bialkowski, who has a year left on his contract with Town having an option to keep him for a further season, said recently that he and his family are very happy at Ipswich but admitted he has ambitions to play in the Premier League.

Wolves appear set to be among the Championship’s bigger spenders this summer as they look to challenge for promotion in 2017/18 after a disappointing 15th-place finish this season.

Paul Lambert’s club have already been linked with 24-year-old Preston striker Jordan Hugill, a Town target in January when they had two bids, the second of £2 million, rebuffed.

Meanwhile, Barnsley have confirmed that Marley Watkins and Josh Scowen are leaving Oakwell this summer having turned down new contracts.

Midfielder or striker Watkins, 26, was the subject of a £1 million Town offer last summer with the Blues showing further interest in January.

Quizzed on whether he might make a renewed summer move for Watkins in March, Town boss Mick McCarthy kept his cards typically close to his chest: “I don’t know. We’ll see, he’s out of contract.”

We understand Scowen, a 24-year-old midfielder, is also a player that the Blues have kept tabs on this season.

We have waited a long time for a decent number 1. Now over the last 2 seasons Bart has proved that. If this club has any aspirations of challenging for promotion then we must not sell the bedrock of the team. We must build around him

Fully understand everybody's expressed objections and/or worries for the future after a likely sale of no less that TWTD fan-voted MOTM 24 times this season alone! King Bart.

..... But ehmm may I remind you all that the current ITFC Regime is imho not only an excessively AUTOCRATIC Regime!, but the 'The One Who Knows Best' :-) among our local take on "The 3 Stooges" :-) (at least according to his very own 'Delusion Of Grandeur' controlled + self-perceived infallible way of thinking) Mr. Dino McCarthy has also very recently proclaimed this:

Bart's brilliant this season quote "pretty much a lot of that is down to Gerks"???!!! + "Bart's got to be on his toes, he's got to play well, if he doesn't, Gerks comes in and does that."???!!! + "Yes Gerks's been pretty much a big part of how Bart's played"???!!!

(LOL! ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS 'ACADEMY AWARD WORTHY' DINO DRIVEL! IMHO)

....So alas no need to worry AT ALL folks! i.e. about a future without Bart .... as basically Bart's brilliance is to a very substantial degree down to involuntarily left-out-in-the-cold McCarthy favorite Dean Gerken .... so say our ultra domineering 'One & Only Savior' 'The Dino Messiah' , hence it simply must be true right? :-) LMAO!

PS: Oh BTW check out this "ITFC End-Of-Season Survey" on EADT:

http://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/have-your-say-and-take-part-in-our-big-end-of-season

and while the Dino himself of course vehemently keeps on denying he EVER read or listen to anything locally, although I have personally demonstrated that as being a blatant lie on 1 occasion here + basically he just seems UNNATURAL well-informed of what is being said and meant about him etc. for one claiming not to be reading or listening to anything! Period! ...ME though or at the very least his right-hand clueless puppet IM (and even possibly Symmonds or Andrews) probably does!
Maybe not TWTD to some greater or frequent extent, but fairly likely EADT and similar local broad new publications / web sites, which is basically why I recommend that you should partake in this survey ... as beside just having your say on some more trivial-like highlights also thus very can serve as yet another way or opportunity to hopefully let the dreaded ITFC Regime know of at least SOME of your disapprovals!

Without Bart this season we might now be in league one, if we sell him it will show the complete lack of ambition at ITFC

You can't build (or re-build) if you keep selling off your best building material.

But, money talks (this is business, not sport these days) and with a management team like we have at ITFC at the moment, we know what to expect...

If the right offer or club comes in for Bart then it's going to be highly likely that he will move on. At 29, although young for a keeper, it' would be the right time for him to go, if he has the ambitions of playing at a higher level, probably not at Wolves though!! I have zero confidence in Gerks however, he looks shaky and appears on occasions to have a hole in him!!!, although the Dino will disagree with this as his clearly on that favourites list. If Bart should move on, then the spine of the team which has so far been confirmed (subject to new additions of course) will be Gerks, Chambo and Skuse and of course headed up by 'Dreaded Dino'. So it could well be more of the same old 'PONY' for next season, or worse.

GET THAT DINO OUT!

When comments are made about Bart and only being better than Gerks when he found some consistency have you forgotten that he held the shirt when his Father died and was treated like a leper by our great leader who was so pleased to get his proper bloke back in goal!! then of course Gerks picked up another phantom injury so what did Bart do he played out of his skin and made himself un droppable and kept us with Toms goals)in the championship full credit to him for the wholehearted performances that he produced when he must have felt like hell on earth, now that great leader is a proper bloke not the creeps that you favour!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing to do with the thread, but reading an item on BBC sports page Roy Keane said of McCarthy during the 2002 World Cup.
"Mick, you're a liar. I didn't rate you as a player. I don't rate you as a manager, and I don't rate you as a person."
Roy, your a man ahead of your time!!

one of the main problems if Bart goes to a Premier Club he will finish up sitting on the Bench, which would not suit him I am sure, Begovic a typical example , played about 2 games this season.
But I suppose with the money he can put up with that ??????

@sereneblue

IMHO you are being way too polite :-) in your abbreviated reciting of the infamous 'Saipan Incident' in 2002 between Keane & The Dino, something which Neill Quinn later called "the most surgical slaughtering I've ever heard"!!! lol
.... I've personally earlier this year revisited the whole e core of the tirade here on TWTD but I'm not gonna repeat that again... ehmmm for the simple reason I don't bother going through all my comment this year to find it and thus there's too many imho delightfully fitting (for The Dino!) Keane profanities involved which I don't really fancy censoring again with my sprained wrist and all :-).

So instead I offer you all this page (but the NET is littered with countless others touching upon the "Saipan Incident") which has most of it form I believe, and in uncensored form! + but also just happens to revolve around well-worthy-of- revisiting quite UNFATHOMABLE & extremely childish dropping of Maitland-Niles by The Dino allegedly all because of MN's mum's “Poisonous” Voicemail Rant???!!! HaHaHaHa

Here we go as I predicted all those brain cells working overtime over a rumour that may not have any foundation to it. The more worrying thing is that we have weeks before the start of the new season and there are are going to get rumours like this everyday. I suspect that one of of the the reasons the NHS is in so much trouble is that all you moaning morons are going to see there doctors with stress. No one noes what is going to happen whether MM goes or stays and whether ME is going to put money in for players this year or not. Until we find that out PLEASE SHUT UP AND WAIT UNTIL AT LEAST JULY before posting the same old drivel week in and week out.

Tony88 aka the 'big man'!! Or should I say the king of minis men. It's better to comment on all things ITFC than the boring 'PONY' that comes out your mush. DO ONE YOU DINO LOVING BUFFOON. (Lol)

Ps You obviously wanted a reaction, so there you 'ave it'.

Well said... Aye t's quite incredible (besides wildly **hilarious** of course!) how there as good as always is someone on each & every public chat-board out there in Cyberspace, who will go from the sissy-like equivalent of say tiny bitty "Ant Man", without 'em silly & further-than-fare-out superpowers obviously!, in the REAL (or outside) world....

to say a giga over-inflated biiiig & macho "Michelin Man"

...whenever they are situated in that cozy **SAFETY** of their armchair, isn't it now???
:-) LMAO!

I can't believe the amount of people on here that appear to have so much faith in Gerken! In my opinion, we would've certainly been relegated this year If Gerken had played the same number of games as he did the previous season. He's a complete liability. It's pretty obvious that Bart's going, hence a new contract for Gerken. I just pray he won't be our number 1.

BerlinBlue added 11:03 - May 12
Not sure why he'd go to Wolves, and not sure why MM would even consider selling him. He's rightly regarded as one of the best keepers in the league and surely we should be doing everything to ensure he stays with us. I really despair at what's happening to our club.

BooM76 added 13:50 - May 12
We could get another 6-9 seasons out of Bart if he continues progressing as he has. But ... we sell every decent player we have for the last 2 decades so I feel disappointed. We really should have done better this season but team chemistry was off in my opinion. We need attacking LB and RB plus a Lawerence type in midfield and a consistent striker in to the mix. CB or two now also ... lotta work for MM to get all that and then gel it together ... Go BLUES!!!
