Rotherham Boss Warne Expects Adeyemi to Join Town or Norwich
Monday, 26th Jun 2017 18:14

Rotherham boss Paul Warne believes former Millers loanee Tom Adeyemi, who is a free agent having been released by Cardiff City, will end up joining either Town or Norwich City, his hometown club where he started his career.

Midfielder Adeyemi, 25, was first mentioned in connection with the Blues and Canaries in May, while Warne says he’d ideally liked to have kept him at the New York Stadium.

“I offered him a brilliant deal,” he told the Sheffield Star. “He wants to stay in the Championship.

“He’s hoping to get it sorted soon. I reckon he will be going to Norwich or Ipswich. I’d still take him if I could. He brings goals to the team.”

Asked whether he has any interest in Adeyemi earlier today, Blues boss Mick McCarthy kept his cards typically close to his chest.

“I’ve been linked with loads of people but if I answer a question on everybody I’ve been linked with [I’ll be here for a while], and I can’t help what people put in papers,” he said.

All this activity all of a sudden... Will you be going for a lie-down soon, Phil? :)

Can't see him joining us when he's a Norwich boy. Saying that we're surely a better career option in terms of guaranteed first team football.

We won't be able to match scums wages I suspect. But he's more likely to get game time at Town, unless scum lose a few more of the established , expensive flops.

Yh Scum is most likely destination but who knows maybe he grew up a Utd fan and figures they let him go once.. ...

If he goes there though perhaps means we are more inclined to go in with more for the Hibs fella

Scum will most probably offer him higher wages however according to his wiki page it states he grew up a spurs supporter and Norwich did let him go before so maybe he'll opt our way if there's no emotional attachment involved... we shall see. Would like to see a player pick us over them but in all honesty can't say I know much about the man

A very intelligent lad, heap load of A grades at A level from memory and all whilst training full time - would suggest he will make a decision based on his football progression rather than money....... He had enough sense to leave Naaaridge and I believe it was his decision?!?!?

If he's not good enough for Cardiff then I doubt the Scum would want him back. We've probably got a half decent chance of signing him, but can't say I'm that excited by the prospect. Very average.

I wonder if Moore and Emmanuel are being offered on loan in order to boost our chances of securing the deal. And he did score against us I believe so that would explain a lot! ;-)

Midas touch. How can Emmanuel and Moore be offered as part of the deal for Adyemi? He's a free agent.

He's a free player, his contract has already expired at Rotherham.

Cheers blues1 and PJewellisaGod.
I was putting 2+2 together and coming up with 22!
Even though he's got a Norwich past he might fancy his chances of getting in our first team better than at Norwich given he had trouble breaking into their team before. Be interesting to see how it plays out...
Cheers
