Friars International Show

Sean Friars was an international hero last night as he set up a last minute winner for the Northern Ireland U21s. Friars, currently on loan at Portadown, beat three men before squaring to Maurice Harkin who hit home in the game against Malta in Corradino. The 20 year-old has been told he will be offered another one year deal at Town, but many Town fans must still wonder why a player who has been well regarded by successive Northern Ireland managers has still only made one appearence for Town. That was as sub in the victory over Crewe at Portman Road in November.

Town reserves take on Wycombe's second string this afternoon at Portman Road (2pm). Into the side comes Saturday's goal hero Martijn Reuser who is still lacking games. The Dutchman will be looking to win a place in Tuesday's side meeting West Brom. The game will also see Stuart Niven and Titus Bramble continue their comebacks after injuries. Also included is Danish trialist Anders Koogi. Koogi is a 20-year old midfielder who was recently released by Peterborough United. Full squad: Branagan, Kennedy, Moffat, Bramble, Thetis, J Miller, Holster, Reuser, Niven, Koogi, Axeldal, Midgley, Artun, Asiamah, Mayes and Pullen.

Richard Wright and Kieron Dyer are both expected to be in the England U21 side which will meet Yugoslavia tonight in a play-off in Barcelona.
