Town will find out this evening if European football will return to Portman Road next season. The draw for the final two UEFA Cup places takes place in Switzerland, at half-time during the European U21 Championship final. France meet the Czech Republic in Basle.

Norwegian side SK Brann received the one automatic place after their league acheived the highest UEFA Fair Play coefficient.

The other sixteen clubs hoping that they will be drawn out of the hat are Orgryte (Sweden), Lahti (Finland), Grindavik (Iceland), AaB Aalborg (Denmark), Borussia Mönchengladbach (Germany), Tulevik Viljandi (Estonia), Rotor Volgograd (Russia), St Truidense (Belgium), Sochau (France), Ashdod (Israel), Carmarthen Town (Wales), Debreceni (Hungary), Sigma Olomouc (Czech Republic), Neuchatel Xamax (Switzerland), Real Sociedad (Spain) and Yugoslavia's nominees, undecided until their season ends on June 6th.

Town finished fourth in the English Fair Play League, but Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle, the sides ahead of them, qualified for Europe via other routes.

If the Blues are drawn from the hat, then they will enter the UEFA Cup at the qualifying round stage.
