Jackson and Edun Make Full Debuts at Exeter
Tuesday, 14th Aug 2018 19:13

Town boss Paul Hurst has made three changes for this evening’s Carabao Cup tie at Exeter with striker Kayden Jackson and midfielder Tayo Edun making their full Town debuts, while Freddie Sears returns to the XI.

Cole Skuse and Ellis Harrison drop to the bench but Gwion Edwards misses out with a minor quad problem.

Teddy Bishop, who last played on Boxing Day, and Danny Rowe are among the subs for the first time this season.

Exeter include ex-Blues Lee Martin, who makes his full debut for the Grecians, and Troy Brown.

Exeter City: Pym, Sweeney, Brown, A Martin, Woodman, Boateng, Tillson, Taylor (c), L Martin, Jay, Stockley. Subs: Hamon, Forte, Oates, Abrahams, Croll, Collins, Sparkes.

Town: Bialkowski, Donacien, Nsiala, Chambers (c), Knudsen, Chalobah, Edun, Sears, Nolan, Ward, Jackson. Subs: Gerken, Skuse, Harrison, Spence, Bishop, Rowe, Kenlock. Referee: Brett Huxtable (Devon).

Feel sorry for Gerken as a good opportunity to give him a game. Bart has hardly covered himself in glory this season and needs to improve his kicking. Not saying Gerks is better than Bart but when is Gerks going to get a game if not picked tonight.

sears starting oh no why not give a youngster like Morris a chance they are the future sears is finished really agree that Gerken should be given a game unless he wants the back line to have more game time together to gel as a unit

Why are we surprised skuse has been dropped to the bench?? We do NOT need 2 holding midfielders! This is where the problems start for me! For me it's chalobah and someone who gets box to box.. 2 wingers and 2 STRIKERS! I think Harrison needs a partner.. let's hope we win and it gives the boys some much needed confidence! COYB

Time to get our first win of the season. Our first round record is decent in this competition isn't it!?!

I think if we played Jackson and Harrison together they could be like Roberts and Ellington were at Wigan!

That's a really poor result no matter which way you look at it. Almost a first choice Town starting XI and can't put away a League 2 outfit. Patience will definitely be tested this season.
