Burley on Goodwood

Town's trip to Goodwood will see the players involved in some unusual activities according to George Burley. The manager says that the team will be involved in Krypton Factor and It's a Knock-Out type games as the boss attempts to bond his squad.

Burley says of the two-day trip: "It will be a change of venue and a change of routine, mixing
some team-building exercises alongside the normal football training.

"We have joined forces with a firm who are experts at this kind of thing. They are used to dealing with all sorts of companies and tailoring
programmes to suit.

"They have had dealings with football clubs in the past and we thought we would give it a try. It will lighten the mood a little bit after all the hard work put in last week."

"There are quite a few different activities lined up, with the emphasis on getting players to work in groups. But we'll be doing the more conventional training as well."

Burley has confirmed that both Darren Ambrose and Darren Bent will be involved in the trip and says that the management hope they will be heavily involved in the season ahead.

Last week saw the squad working with fitness coach Simon Thadani alongside coaches Steve McCall and Tony Mowbray. The sessions at the Royal Hospital School, Holbrook concentrated on conditioning with players working in the gym as well as playing tennis and swimming.

The squad returns to their Playford Road training ground on Friday before the five-day trip to Denmark where they will play Thomas Gaardsøe's old club AaB Aalborg and Farum Boldklub.
