No Brown Bid - Burley
No Brown Bid - Burley
Monday, 8th Jul 2002 12:35

Town boss George Burley has denied today's reports that Wayne Brown is set for a move to Wimbledon. Burley, who returned from holiday in Monte Carlo at the weekend, says no bid has been received for the 24-year-old central defender.

Burley said: "This is news to me. Wimbledon haven't contacted me and all I know about Wayne is that we have offered him a new two-year contract, which we hope he will sign."

The Town manager adds that as yet no clubs have come in in for any of his players: "As far as I'm concerned it is just speculation.

"This is part and parcel of football. We have had ever since I came here, so nothing has changed. It happens all the time and the players are used to it.

"All I can say is that we have not received any bids for any of our players."

Town skipper Matt Holland, at the centre of the majority of speculation over recent weeks, will join-up with the squad when they travel to Denmark next Monday.
