Good - the result of the minority spoiling things for the majority who can, and do, take their Ale - and behave.

Shame, but no other way. Perhaps the thugs who wanted to wreck the Stadium last time, will think again.

Cogratulations to the idiots who did the damage last year, you've succesfully wrecked derby away day for many seasons to come. You may expect this behaviour from mindless youths but one of the 4 convicted is 45!!

Why is it that Norwich fans can invade pitches and give vile abuse abuse to Ipswich players and managers, run across the roof of the exec boxes on the Portman stand, let off flares and be complete and utter w@n kers, be allowed to drink before Ipswich games and yet not get arrested/punished for any of their offences - but 4 numpty town fans damage some lights at Carrow Road and all Ipswich fans sanctioned with draconian measures?

I understand there will be a checkpoint at Scole, manned by Narfulks finest searching for : chocolate licquers, Night Nurse (the drowsy one), rum babas, cough linctus , sherry trifle and surgical spirit.
Expect full body pat-downs and cavity searches.

No surprise that this is announced the day before the tickets go on general sale. Don't like to see damage to property the Club's reputation but frankly the reaction to it by banning alcohol is over the top. As I've said in a previous comment, there has not been a great history of trouble in recent years yet the Police have done more than anyone to spoil this as an occasion. Good policing surely is to allow an event to take place in its true form, not to put such restrictions on it regarding kick-off time and unnecessary restrictions to a point where it doesn't resemble what it used to and should be still - a great day where the anticipation builds to kick off at 3pm. Sheffield Utd played Sheffield Wednesday in an evening kick-off last season and local derbies throughout the land are going back to this as they recognise them for the great events they are. Other police forces can cope but Norfolk and Suffolk Police seem completely out of their depth with this. When we played Norwich earlier this season Norwich 'fans' weren't exactly respectful of property at Ipswich railway station.

......... the thugs have got their just desserts - shame sensible, well behaved fans who attend for the right, and proper reasons, suffer the same consequences.

We have a thug element now that we NEVER had - sad days all round hey ?

I expect this will now be a regular feature of the derby game. Recall when we played them at Portnan Road, the bars in the Bobby Robson Stand ran out of beer before the end of half time and all at the same time - very deliberate and planned.

I certainly don't condone the behaviour of the idiots who cause trouble at matches but I do agree with tags who makes a very valid point about Norwich fans behaviour.
Why has action not been take against them?

not sure who is repsonsible for this but way over the top.The podcasts (apologies as cant rememember which one )mentioned how crazy the rules are taking away the enjoyment for genuine fans. The other derbies across the country are taking place on Friday nights with less inconveniences .
