Lambert Confirms Vincent-Young to Sign Subject to Medical
Friday, 16th Aug 2019 20:05

Town boss Paul Lambert has confirmed that Colchester United right-back Kane Vincent-Young will sign for the club subject to a medical.

As TWTD reported earlier, Vincent-Young was at Playford Road this morning, the clubs having agreed a £500,000 fee on Wednesday evening.

Vincent-Young underwent a medical today but the results of some aspects won’t be confirmed until the weekend.

"He's here but it's all subject to a medical," Lambert told iFollow Ipswich.

"Hopefully that all goes well and he'll be a good signing for the club. He fits the mould - he's quick, dynamic and he's a talented player.

"Kane can play on both sides of defence so he gives us options too. He's an athletic lad and he's good on the ball plus he's only 23 years old.

“Should everything go to plan then we will be looking forward to working with him."

Well he'll have to prove he's Superman to withstand the barrage that is our training regime, most of our players don't make it so they only take the super fit ones now

If he's an “athletic lad,” then hopefully this will go through.

.......” Vincent-Young underwent a medical today but the results of some aspects won't be confirmed until the weekend.”

What does this mean ? Is there a problem with “ some aspects” of his medical then? Or are we finally being more careful with players medical history b4 signing them?

Nothing to worry about I expect. I believe I've read somewhere that medicals have been made more stringent and include heart monitoring over a 24 hour period, something like that anyway. But basically it's standard practice these days.

Ah I see , that fits in with something I learned a while ago regarding players and heart problems then. Given the number of players who suddenly keel over and die with undiagnosed heart problems - this makes perfect sense ! Thanks for that 👍

If he plays both sides, let's also get the Crewe dude! We need bombers on both sides! Oh sorry, I doubt that Marcus would pay for 2.
