Karic on Trial at Hibs
Karic on Trial at Hibs

Misfit Slovenian full-back Amir Karic is reported to be on trial at Hibernian. The World Cup star has not been involved with Town in pre-season and he and the club have been in talks regarding the cancellation of his contract.

Hibs manager Billy Williamson says he wants to see the 28-year-old in action before his interest progresses any further: "He is a player I have been made aware of. I've had a look at him on video tape and he's come up here to have a look about.

"There's nothing been done at the moment and there might never be."

Sources in Scotland suggest that Karic may cost the Easter Road club £150,000, however, it is likely that Town would be willing to let him go on a free to rid themselves of his £7,000-a-week wage.

Karic has made just three appearances with the Blues, all in the Worthington Cup two seasons ago. Last year he spent most of the season on loan at former club NK Maribor from whom the Blues bought the left-sided player for £700,000 in September 2000.
