Taylor: Sears is Getting Stronger and Quicker Every Day
Tuesday, 19th Nov 2019 15:25

Striker Freddie Sears is getting stronger and quicker every day, according to assistant manager Stuart Taylor.

The 29-year-old frontman has been out of action since rupturing a cruciate knee ligament at Norwich in February.

Taylor was at pains to point out that Sears still has some distance to progress before he is ready for a return to the first team but says the rest of the squad have received a boost by seeing how far he has come.

“Having him back on the training field has given the lads a lift because they can see how far he’s come, how close he is,” Taylor told iFollow Ipswich.

“He has responded really well. He is getting stronger and quicker every day, getting more confident as well which is really important.

“He’s a great character, he’s loved in the dressing room. We are really happy with him but he’s still a good bit away from featuring in the first team.”
