Town boss George Burley has praised fans' efforts during the season so far. Sunday's game against Leicester saw a crowd of more than 27,000 while more than 1,600 travelled to Luxembourg for the Avenir Beggen match.

Burley told the club site: "To have over 27,000 at Portman Road on Sunday was a tremendous vote of confidence for the team.

"We took 1,600 to Luxembourg for our UEFA Cup tie and to have so many for our first home game has been a big bonus to me and everyone connected with the club.

The Town boss says the players can repay fans' faith by gaining promotion at the first attempt.

Meanwhile Burley says he has not definite bids for any of his players with just 11 days of the transfer window left. As we reported last night TWTD has learnt that Town and Villa have spoken regarding Matt Holland's future, although it appears no formal bid has actually been made as yet.
