Stewart Fee Was Agreed?
Stewart Fee Was Agreed?
Tuesday, 20th Aug 2002 09:57

Reports this morning say that Marcus Stewart's wages were the stumbling block preventing the Town striker from joining Portsmouth. Yesterday Harry Redknapp said he could not afford Stewart who last week he had expressed an interest in signing.

This morning's reports claim a fee of £900,000 had been agreed between the clubs, Town presumably keen to rid themselves of high earners at lower fees as the transfer window creeps ever closer.

Stewart's wages are reported to be £10,000-a-week, a figure out of the reach of Pompey.
