Holland on Agreed Fee

Town skipper Matt Holland has made a statement on the news that Town and Aston Villa have agreed a fee. The Town captain says he has been made aware of the development by his agent Jonathan Barnett, but is yet to make any decision.

Holland, writing on his website (http://www.matthollandweb.com), said: "My agent called me to inform me that the recent rumours were true and that the club had had discussions with Villa and agreed a fee.

"Unfortunately although I know the club does not want to sell me, the reality of the balance sheet is that money needs to be raised.

"At the moment I have very little else to comment upon the news because I am preparing for tonight's friendly for the Republic of Ireland against Finland."

The skipper adds that he will sit down and discuss his options on his return from Finland and will keep fans abreast over the next few days via his site.

TWTD will have another Matt-related Town Topic up in the site in a matter of minutes: " target="_blank">http://www.twtd.co.uk/towntopics
