Salmon Retires Saturday, 31st Aug 2002 10:22 Former Town keeper Mike Salmon has been forced to retire from football due to a recurrent knee injury. Salmon left Town in the summer and, after turning down an offer form Colchester, was playing for non-league Tonbridge Angels. Salmon picked up the latest in a number of knee injuries during a Courier Cup clash against Tunbridge Wells in an incident with Wells player-manager Steve Clark, a former Angels player. Salmon sought medical advice and was advised that he should not play competitive football any more. The keeper spent three years at Town but failed to make a single first team appearance.
