I Was Fouled - Marshall
I Was Fouled - Marshall

Unsurprisingly Andy Marshall felt he was fouled in the build-up to Norwich's goal during Sunday's derby. The Town keeper appeared to be impeded by both Malky MacKay and Iwan Roberts as he collected Paul McVeigh's ball forward.

Marshall said: "I was expecting a foul — it's as simple as that really. I was frustrated with myself because I wasn't totally in control of the ball, hence why it came out of my hands.

"But I felt as though Iwan impeded me a little bit and sometimes you are looking for the referee to help you out. Malky and Iwan are big lads and it's never going to be easy for a goalkeeper in those situations.

"I had dinner with Malky the other night so it was typical that he had to get a goal! But I suppose if someone was going to score it might as well be one of my better friends."

It was Marshall's first game against his old club and he says it was nice to play against some old friends: "I really enjoyed playing against the Norwich lads for the first time.

"I've known most of them for four or five years — and I've known Robert Green and Darren Kenton for a lot longer than that.

"They know that friendships go out of the window when we're out there on the pitch but once the game is over we're all good friends again. In fact I've just come from the dressing after having a chat with them all.

"As for the reaction of the Norwich fans well, it's water off a duck's back to be honest. You know you are going to get some stick so you switch off and just concentrate on your job. Having said that I was aware of what was said.

"I did think about giving them a little reply when we equalised but having seen our fans come on the pitch I decided to put my sensible hat on. I didn't want the same thing to happen at my end!

"I don't think the booing affected my game at all. I was fully focussed throughout and just tried to treat it like any other match — the main problem was not having played for two weeks.

"I've been looking forward to the game for a long time but now I'm just glad it's out of the way to be honest."
