David Sheepshanks congratulated Town supporters on making Sunday's game the highest attended derby for some years. With the new North Stand almost complete the attendance was only just under the 30,000 mark at 29,112.

Sheepshanks said: "I want to congratulate everyone for turning out and when the final few seats are open in a week or two we could get more than 30,000 here.

"Our supporters were a bit nervous at times but we were all so desperate for a result. Although the atmosphere in the last four minutes was absolutely unbeatable.

"You won't get a more exciting climax to a match anywhere in the world to the way that ended.

"It was a typical derby game played in a tremendous spirit by both sides.

"It would have been an absolute travesty if we had lost because we controlled large parts of the match.

"In the end justice was done and I was as delighted to see Pablo's goal go in. It was excellent striking."

Town could see themselves fined after a handful of supporters ran onto the pitch after the goal. Referee Paul Durkin is including the incident in his report.

It looks unlikely that he spotted Norwich keeper Robert Green goading the Town crowd earlier in the game, something that could have had some bearing on the pitch invasion.
