Town boss George Burley has praised striker Pablo Couñago after his six-goal start to the season. The Spaniard was a number of foreign imports who failed to make an impression last year but his manager feels more of them should do better this time around.

Burley said: "It is difficult for players to come from different countries and it takes time for them to settle in.

"Not every player is going to be brilliant and they are not all going to be successful.

"That was evident last season when we made a very poor start but that has gone now and we have to get on with it.

"Those players should have settled in by now and you can see with Pablo for example how he is adapting better and improving."

It is likely that the former Spanish U21 will get his chance to impress his manager again on Thursday when Town meet Sartid in the UEFA Cup.
