Skipper Matt Holland and Mark Venus are both missing from George Burley's squad for Tuesday's Worthington Cup match against Brighton. Both underwent treatment during Sunday's loss at Stoke.

Venus was replaced after being tackled heavily by Andy Cooke and, while Wayne Brown was waiting to replace him, a collision with Stoke sub Kris Commons saw the veteran down again. The calf injury picked up in these incidents keeps him out of the Seagulls' visit.

Holland went down injured after Stoke striker Tommy Mooney ran into him not long after the beginning of the second half. Tuesday will be the first time Holland has missed a Town game due to injury since his transfer from Bournemouth in the summer of 1997, although he has previously been rested for a number of cup matches.

Also omitted is Richard Naylor who has picked up a knee problem in between turning down loan spells with lower division clubs.

Included in the senior squad for the first time is young midfielder Ian Westlake. He has impressed this season with tireless displays either on the right or in the centre of midfield.

Matt Richards, who made his senior debut in the Avenir Beggen away UEFA Cup tie, is also in Burley's squad.

Squad: Marshall, Pullen, Wilnis, Clapham, Hreidarsson, McGreal, Brown, Gaardsøe, Magilton, T Miller, Wright, Ambrose, George, Couñago, M Bent, D Bent, Armstrong, Richards and Westlake.
