Town defender Hermann Hreidarsson could miss the home match against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, October 12th, as he will be away on international duty.

Hreidarsson's Iceland have a European Championships qualifier with Scotland on the same day as the Owls match while Amir Karic has already been called into the Slovenian squad for their match against France.

Holland's Ireland, however, don't have a match until the following Wednesday, against Switzerland at Landsdowne Road. It is unclear when Mick McCarthy would require Holland.

Town need three players called-up to have the fixture postponed and they may well face the Owls without Hreidarsson, and rather less importantly Amir Karic, available for selection.

One possibility that would help Town get the game postponed is if either Darren Ambrose or Darren Bent get called into the England U21 squad for the first time. David Platt's men face Slovakia in Trnava on Friday, October 11th.
