Town caretaker-manager Tony Mowbray saw some positives in the gloom of Saturday's dismal 3-1 defeat at Reading. Mowbray also felt that Pablo Couñago's red card for violent conduct was warranted.

The former skipper said after the game, presumably referring to the early period of the second half: "The signs are there and the passing and movement is starting to come off."

Couñago's red card ended hopes of a Town fightback after an incident where Adie Williams avoided any card for his involvement. Mowbray spoke to his player after the game: "Pablo tells me that he was trodden on. He's a a player who likes physical contact, and being Spanish that's the sort of person he is. But you can't raise your hands in this game - that's something he will have to learn."
