Ticketless Fans to Travel
Ticketless Fans to Travel

TWTD has learnt that a number of Town fans are planning to travel to the Czech Republic for Town's UEFA Cup match against Slovan Liberec without tickets to the game. Many booked flights and accommodation only for the supply of tickets to run out before they were entitled to purchase them.

The Blues received an allocation of 650 tickets which went on sale on Monday to Away Match Passport holders and on Tuesday to Gold Card holders. They were all sold yesterday leaving an apparently large number disappointed.

Although the allocation was lower than the club had received for previous UEFA Cup games, it is higher than the 5% away fans are entitled to under UEFA Cup rules.

Slovan Liberec's ground has a capacity of just 9,090 which would mean that, according to the rules, Town ought to get only 454 seats.

The club are encouraging those without tickets not to travel as they will be unable to obtain tickets for the game in the Czech Republic.

Town say they are making attempts to secure more seats, however a spokesman told TWTD: "We're not hopeful of success at the present time."

Fans are also warned that there will be no public transport back from Liberec to Prague after the game. The match kicks-off at 7pm Czech time.
