Ambrose Called-Up
Ambrose Called-Up

Town wonderkid Darren Ambrose has been called-up to the England U19 squad for the European Qualification mini-tournament next month. Unfortunately for Town the games clash with the games against Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough.

Ambrose was called into the last U19 squad for the friendly with Yugoslavia at Kidderminster but was not played in the game due to Town having several matches that week. However, on this occasion there seems little point in naming him in the squad if he isn't going to play in the three games.

The first match is on Sunday, November 3rd, the same day as the Palace game, and is against Macedonia, again at Kidderminster. The second is on the following Tuesday against Moldova at Rushden's Nene Park. The final game against Romania is at Northampton's Sixfields. Town face Middlesbrough at Portman Road in the Worthington Cup on the Wednesday.

Darren Bent has previously played for the U19s, but is not in the squad, although Ben Bowdtich, brother of Town's Dean, is involved.
