Miller Wants Talks

Young Town defender Justin Miller will return from his second month on loan at Leyton Orient on Monday and will seek talks with Joe Royle regarding his future. The South African has impressed during his spell at Brisbane Road.

Miller says been in the dark since George Burley was sacked three weeks ago: “I've not had any contact with Ipswich since George Burley left, I think everyone's just trying to settle down under Joe Royle.

“I'll probably go back there on Monday and train — I try to keep in touch once a week — and I'll have a chat then and see what's going on.

“I'm enjoying myself here so it wouldn't be an issue to stay for longer if everyone thought it was for the best. If it will benefit me, then I'll definitely stay."

Miller has been playing in his familiar centre-half role and the O's recently switched to using three central defenders, something he is used to: “I feel a lot more comfortable playing in a back three because that's what I mostly did at Ipswich and it means you have more cover.

"It creates more room for our wing-backs to get forward and get in more crosses and that's a strength for us. We're hurting teams now and we look like we're going to score when we go forward.

"Ezy Iriekpen and I are quite similar players and I think Dean Smith has been excellent over the last few games — we're all on the same wavelength.

"The guys have got lots of confidence and we've been playing well, so if we carry on playing as we have been, we shouldn't really have a problem in this league."
