FA Refusing to Confirm
FA Refusing to Confirm

The FA is refusing to confirm that the England-Croatia match has been set for Portman Road on August 20th. However, their Croat counterparts are under the impression that the game's venue has been decided and Portman Road will, as reported earlier, host its first full international.

Town are also yet to confirm the game with the official site merely quoting Paul Barber, the FA's Director of Marketing and Communications: "I can confirm that England will play Croatia in a friendly in August of next year.

"But at this stage we are still discussing possible venues for the match and no decision has been made yet."

This is contrary to the view of the Croatian Football Federation, a spokesperson there saying: "The game is definitely on.

"Our head coach is very excited about bringing the team to England and we very much look forward to the game in Ipswich."
