Town are reported to be keeping an eye on Inverness Caledonian Thistle midfielder Barry Robson. The 24-year-old scored Caley's winner in their 1-0 victory over Clyde in the Scottish League Division One on Saturday.

Robson's manager Steve Paterson says his player's recent performances will have alerted other clubs: "I'm not surprised there is interest in Barry considering the form he's been in.

"But he has 18 months of his contract still to go so we're under no pressure unless we get the right offer."

With Town's finances as they are at present it looks as if Joe Royle will have to sell before he can buy.

Aberdeen born Robson started his career with Rangers but moved to Inverness in 1997 without making any full appearances at Ibrox. In 1999/00 he enjoyed a seven-month loan spell at Forfar.
