Jonas Axeldahl, the Swedish striker with the Sci-Fi name on trial with Town during their Swedish jaunt, is joining the club on a one-month contract.

He clearly did enough to impress George Burley into bringing him over, now he needs to continue to do so and win a full-time contract. He is likely to play on Saturday in the game against FC Twente Enschede at Portman Road (2pm).

Town's other Swedish interest (Romeo Zondervan's private life left to one side), Andreas Jakobsson is still being targeted by the club with reports that Town have increased their £1 million bid.

However, the Helsingbords centre-half may be keen to stay in Sweden as his side are set for European action and his club seems keen to keep him.

Jakobsson is rated as one of the best defenders playing in the Swedish League and may feel that he needs to move to England in order to advance his international career. He currently finds himself behind several others in the pecking order, all of whom play in leagues other than Sweden.
