Nottingham Forest's Jack Lester has been given a three-game ban for head-butting Town's Jim Magilton during the league encounter at the City Ground in November. Lester was given the news at a Football Association tribunal in London on Wednesday.

At the time referee Paul Armstrong booked the striker for the offence, however he was later charged with was violent conduct after the referee's assessor felt the incident was worth a greater punishment.

After the game Town manager Joe Royle was less than impressed with the referee's failure to deal with Lester: "We should have been playing against 10 men a lot earlier than we were. The referee didn't realise that head-butting is a red card offence."

Later in the game Forest's David Prutton was sent off for two cautions.

Jack Lester has had a Manu Thetis type relationship with referee's cards this season, having been booked six times and sent off twice in addition to this latest ban.
