Contrary to this morning's speculation it seems Andreas Jakobsson has turned down the chance to join Town and is staying in Sweden. Earlier it had been reported that Helsingborgs had accepted Town's £1 million offer and the signing seemed a formality. It has been suggested that Jakobsson might be after a move to a bigger club than Town. Back to the drawing board for George Burley then...

On the injury front Town seem to have one or two problems. Jim Magilton's thigh problem is being worked on night and day and he may be ready for Saturday's game with Forest. Also injured are Adam Tanner (knee, off to see the surgeon who carried out his summer operation), Titus Bramble (shin now, apparently), Marco Holster (ankle, back next week) and Stuart Niven (minor groin problem).

Dutch trialist Romeo Wouden has returned to Holland and will not be returning to Portman Road. This will come as little surprise to those who saw him play on Saturday.
