Diallo in Burnley Talks Tuesday, 27th May 2003 16:03 Town target Drissa Diallo is set for more talks with Burnley. The out-of-contract central defender was on a short-term deal at Turf Moor at the end of last season and the Clarets want him to extend his stay in Lancashire. The Guinean international's agent Phil Black says that at present Stan Ternent's club are the favourites for his signature: "There is nothing concrete yet, although Burnley is still Drissa's first option and he is keen to stay. "He loves all the lads there and feels settled. We are just waiting on Burnley's initial offer, but I'm hoping to meet with Stan on Wednesday and begin negotiations. "It's no secret Ipswich are keen to take Drissa, but Joe Royle cannot take things further at the moment because of the transfer embargo. "That puts Burnley in the driving seat, but Drissa is 30-years-old and has to make sure the next step he makes is the right one." Royle is likely to be in a position where he can start to bring players take things further next week. Administrators Deloitte and Touche are set to leave Portman Road on Friday with the Blues' transfer embargo almost certain to be lifted at a Football League board meeting on June 4th.
