Town Exit Administration
Town Exit Administration
Friday, 30th May 2003 09:14

As expected Town will exit administration today after being under the control of Deloitte and Touche since February 10th. The club will now hope that their Football League share is returned at the June 4th League board meeting.

The club's Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) proposal was accepted by creditors on May 2nd but the process of administration allows a 28-day period for legal challenges, that time is up today.

The few days before next Wednesday's Football League board meeting could be a nervous time for David Sheepshanks and his fellow directors. They are continuing discussions with the League to show that the club is in a viable financial position in order to get their share back and allow Joe Royle to begin transfer dealings.

Town need to show that season ticket sales, debentures and the loan stock issue have brought in cash to the levels required by the post-administration business plan.

It is reported that up to now 10,000 season tickets have been processed but, with the deadline for discounts today and a backlog to be processed, that figure is likely to grow with the club understood to be targeting 16,000.

Although May 30th is the official deadline for discounted tickets, the club say that anyone who buys their ticket before midday on Saturday or whose postal application arrives on Monday will still get their seat at the reduced rate.

The planned share issue, scheduled for late 2003, also depends on the success of season ticket sales, debentures and the loan stock.

Although administrators Deloitte and Touche will no longer be running the club after today, they will remain in contact with those in control at Portman Road as supervisors of the CVA.
