Blues' manager Joe Royle has told wantaway keeper Matteo Sereni to get used to being a Town player. The Italian has told Royle that he wants to go back to Italy and Serie A.

Royle says that Sereni needs to accept that he could well be with Town for 2003/04: "Matteo needs to get his head around the fact that we need a keeper and he could be playing for Ipswich next season.

"I have spoken to Matteo and he definitely wants to leave and go back to Italy.

"In regard to his situation, one of two things will happen. If we are offered a fee for him we can't refuse that. However, if we can't get a fee for him then we need a goalkeeper for the beginning of the season."

Royle has refuted this morning's newspaper report that Andy Marshall is set for a move to Stoke, although he admitted that there had been a tentative enquiry from the Potters.

Missing from training today were Marcus Bent and Matt Richards with slight knee and hamstring problems respectively.
