Town manager Joe Royle says that the summer decision to allow Premiership clubs to take players on loan from other sides in the top flight has reduced Nationwide League sides' ability to loan players.

Royle cites the example of Arsenal's Francis Jeffers who returned to Everton for a loan spell earlier in the week: "It narrows the field for Nationwide clubs to take players from the big clubs, players like Francis Jeffers for example who a few days ago may have been within our scope, albeit on a sponsored basis, now is not."

The Town boss says that as yet nothing has been settled regarding bringing in loan signings: "There is nothing concrete just yet. We have made a couple of inquiries but nothing is likely to happen this week."
