Town are being linked with released former Derby striker Fabrizio Ravanelli. The Italian is said to be interesting the Blues but is also involved in discussions with Scottish club Dundee.

The 34-year-old is wavering on a move to Scotland citing a lack of enthusiasm to move his family so far away from their current Midlands base. The former Italian international left Derby at the end of the season and has not been able to find a club since, recently turning down a switch to Coventry.

Town boss Joe Royle admitted yesterday that he is still looking at strengthening the Blues' attack, with loan moves for Geoff Horsfield and Duncan Ferguson recently failing.
