No Bart at County
No Bart at County

On loan midfielder Chris Bart-Williams has not been given permission by Charlton to play for Town in Tuesday's Carling Cup game at Notts County.

The former England U21 is still seen as back-up for his first choice midfield players by Alan Curbishley despite being on a one month loan with Town.

Alan Mahon's club Blackburn are allowing the Irishman to play, perhaps a hint that they may be willing to allow him to leave the club permanently should the Blues want him and have the financial ability to take him at the end of his loan.

Town could be without Drissa Diallo at Meadow Lane, the central defender picking up a knee ligament injury in a clash with Georges Santos in the first half on Saturday.

Darren Bent and Alun Armstrong also acquired slight knocks against Wimbledon.

Even ignoring injuries it is likely that Joe Royle will make one or two changes for the Carling Cup match with Dean Bowditch possibly getting a first start and Ian Westlake a candidate for Bart-Williams' central midfield berth.
