Sheepshanks out by Wednesday

Town chairman David Sheepshanks continues his recovery in hospital and is likely to be out before Town take on Leicester on Wedensday. However, he will not be fit enough to travel to Filbert Street and will listen to the game on the radio. In his absence the club has been run by the other members of the board, although the chairman has attempted to keep an eye on things from his hospital bed.

Town go into Wednesday's game with no reported new casualties after a weekend of international action. Richard Naylor continues his progress after his summer operations, but is still some way off contention. The Foxes meanwhile are waiting on injuries to key midfielders Neil Lennon and Muzzy Izzet. Lennon missed out on Northern Ireland's win over Malta in which Jim Magilton set up Phil Gray's winning goal.

Stories this morning are once more linking David Johnson with an international career with Scotland. Johnson was involved in a protracted and complicated international incident last season which we won't go into here (check out the A-Z section of the site under David Johnson for more details). The Town striker, told last week by George Burley that he was still in with a chance of England recognition, said: "It would be very special to play in a World Cup. It is something you dream about when you are young but don't dare believe it could really happen". Doesn't say who with though does he?

Town legend John Wark missed a penalty at the weekend as his current side Felixstowe and Walton Utd lost 3-2 at home to Waltham Abbey in an FA Cup preliminary round match. Blimey, he didn't do that too often did he?
