Scales in for Wednesday
Scales in for Wednesday
Monday, 4th Sep 2000 13:30

Town defender and future TWTD columnist (its coming soon, honest) John Scales is set to make his Town debut at Filbert Street on Wednesday. He has now recovered from his thigh injury and looks likely to replace Mark Venus who has acquired a thigh problem of his own. Town manager George Burley said: "John came through okay and goes straight into the squad for the game at Filbert Street. We are hopeful that Mark will be okay, but it is reassuring to have a player of John’s experience back in the fold."

Matt Holland's paddling seems to have paid off once more with the ankle injury which kept him out of the Ireland draw with the Netherlands seemingly sorted by the healing waters of Brightlingsea. The Town manager said of his skipper: Matt has been having treatment over the weekend and I expect he will be fine by Wednesday."

Also a worry is Keith Branagan who has a knee injury. Should Town's keeper not make it Mike Salmon will take his place on the bench.
