Defender Chris Hogg and midfielder Matt Bloomfield have been offered the chance to leave Town on free transfers. Bloomfield is contracted to the Blues until next June while Hogg has a further year on his deal.

Hogg, 18, joined Town from York City in the summer of 2001 for a fee of £100,000 which was set to rise on first team appearances.

However, he has not progressed as expected, failing to break into the first team, and Aidan Collins and Gerard Nash are now both ahead of him in the pecking order.

Bloomfield, 19, has suffered with injuries over the last couple of years and has made only one first team appearance, as a sub in the Carling Cup game at Notts County earlier in the season.

Both players are understood to be interesting Boston boss Neil Thompson. Hogg has already spent a successful month on loan at York Street.

Former Town boss George Burley was interested in taking Bloomfield on loan recently and may well fancy a move for him now.
