Town boss Joe Royle says that although his priority is three points on Sunday, he understands that beating the Blues' local rivals is of great importance to fans. Royle's first East Anglian derby with Town ended in a 2-0 win at Carrow Road late last season.

Royle said: "As manager of a top football club my main priority on Sunday - as it always is - will be to collect three points. But I realised after my first East Anglia derby last season that this match means so much more to supporters.

"To have managed and played in Manchester and Merseyside derbies is something. But Ipswich versus Norwich clashes are just as intense and just as important to supporters."

Royle could be able to call on Richard Naylor who is recovering well from a knee and hamstring injury, while John McGreal has a slight thigh problem after last weekend's draw with Millwall but is not considered a doubt for Sunday.
