Town central defender Georges Santos' red card from last week's game at Millwall has been rescinded. Referee Iain Williamson agreed to look at the video after Saturday's game and the Blues have received confirmation that the Frenchman's second yellow card will be set aside.

Boss Joe Royle welcomed the news: "I thank the referee. It's big of him to make the decision, and certainly more illustrious referees have declined that option in the past.

"We should give the man some credit. We saw it again on the video and it was more than harsh and the referee has accepted that. I thank him for his bravery and honesty."

Santos had been due to miss the visit of Crystal Palace due to the red card but will is now free to play against the Eagles.

The former Sheffield United and Grimsby man's yellow cards for the season now stand at six with his first booking from the Den added to his total.
