Joe Made Kenna Enquiry
Joe Made Kenna Enquiry
Friday, 6th Feb 2004 13:17

Town boss Joe Royle has admitted he made an enquiry regarding Birmingham's Jeff Kenna but, with the Irish international back in favour at St Andrew's, he expects him to remain with Steve Bruce's club.

Royle said: “He's someone I've asked about but he's in their first team at the moment, so that's unlikely.”

The Town manager's targeting of a loan full-back since Fabian Wilnis's injury does not mean he has given up on the short-term signing of a striker: “I'm still pursuing a couple of players I'd like to bring in on loan. We are down to the 16 in the squad for tomorrow and three more on top of that.

“I think it would be a good time to bring somebody in. Last time we did it with the three loanees they galvanised us and sent us scurrying up the table. It would be a good time to bring someone else in, but not just for the sake of it and in the right positions.”

Royle does not expect any additions to join his squad until next week.
