Town keeper Andy Marshall says his loan spell at Millwall has become a pointless exercise. Marshall joined the Lions on a month's loan but is after just two games is out of the first-team picture at the New Den.

The stopper says: "I might as well not be here. I can't really see the point if I'm not playing. I'm no better off than if I was at Ipswich."

Marshall played in Millwall's 2-1 win at Crewe and in a 1-1 draw with Stoke but had to drop out of the cup ties against Telford and Burnley as he wasn't registered in time to play in the FA Cup.

Into the side came Frenchman Willy Gueret who has kept his place in the side.

Marshall says he wants to be playing matches: "To be honest I can't see the point in me being here. The club is buzzing because of the FA Cup and they are still in the hunt for a play-off place, but I'm far from happy being on the bench.

"I need games and that's why I was so pleased to get the chance at Millwall. I need people to see me playing, so this situation is not doing me any good."

West Brom expressed their interest in him after Russell Hoult picked up an injury, but as he was at Millwall they plumped for taking Sheffield Wednesday veteran Kevin Pressman on loan instead.

Marshall says a switch to the Hawthorns may well still occur: "Albion is still a possibility, depending on how Russell Hoult is and I know of two other clubs who are interested.

"I think we are talking loan deals. I doubt if there will be anything permanent until the summer."

The former England U21 keeper's Town contract is up in June.
