Joe Royle's search for loan players continues despite a frustrating lack of success in landing short-term signings up to now.

Royle says he was making enquiries ahead of Tuesday's game at Stoke: "Even last night I was making calls but I am still waiting to hear.

"You can never tell what the situation is going to be - it's up to the other managers I have spoken to."
